
Hi, I’m Miriam Ovadya, founder of Remote Hive.
My journey started in Colombia, where I was raised in a humble, hardworking family that taught me the value of discipline, resilience, and resourcefulness from an early age. Those values continued to shape me after moving to the United States at 11 years old, where I quickly developed a strong drive to build, grow, and create opportunities.
I went on to attend Florida International University, (FIU), where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Economics with a minor in Business. During my time in college I balanced a full-time job while completing my degree. An experience that strengthened my work ethic and taught me the value of discipline and consistency. My professional career began in the public sector, where I gained hands-on experience in operations, process management, and applying business principles in real-world environments. I moved on to work at a healthcare management company, where this was further enforced. These experiences, combined with my academic background, gave me a strong understanding of how organizations scale efficiently through structure, systems, and people.
Being originally from Colombia and still having close family ties throughout Latin America, I’ve had a front-row view of the incredible talent that exists across the region. Many of my family members and people in my network are highly educated professionals who have invested heavily in their growth by earning degrees, building careers, and dedicating themselves to improving their English fluency to expand their opportunities.
To me, that level of commitment says everything. It reflects ambition, discipline, adaptability, and a genuine desire to keep growing both personally and professionally.
I began to realize how much untapped talent existed in Latin America. Professionals who were fully capable of creating tremendous value for U.S. companies but often lacked direct access to the right opportunities.
That realization became the foundation for Remote Hive.
